Here is a fun question for you ...
If you were teleported into a D&D world into an automagically peak and healthy body what adventuring D&D class are you? This can be any core or prestige class from 3, 3.5 or Pathfinder, assuming all official material and I dunno all 3rd party Pathfinder. And no NPC classes either.
me I'd be a Factotum from 3.5, a little Cleric, a little Rogue, a little Fighter and a little everything.

I'm one of those freaks who likes the bard.
ReplyDeleteThe 2e Bard was a really great class especially in the later game (the Skills and Powers Era) when it was the foundation for a lot of cool builds. I'll take a cast in armor/fighter/spellcastser with Rogue advancement any day.
ReplyDeleteThe 3.5 and Pathfinder Bards are also pretty good mechanically especially in non dungeons situations . I especially like the archetypes for the PF Bard. Most of them are quite slick.
My only wants Bard wise are a "spell preparation" variant (pretty easy to do) and a non spell using version (not so easy)
3.5 version Ranger (maybe Pathfinder's version if they beefed it up...haven't looked). Some ass-kickery, some skills, and a smattering of spellcasting ability.
ReplyDeleteThat, or a Sorcerer for the full on spell-casting.
Good Call. Pathfinder Rangers are awesome BTW. Check then and the various cool archetypes out at the SRD.
ReplyDeleteThe links on the front page. :)
